“ How To Write Content And Copy For Your Website

“ How to Write Content and Copy for Your Website That Gets the Results You Desire!”

Let’s face it; most web designers are not great copy writers.

Ever see a website and the copy plain sucked? It's brutal, yet bad copy is bad copy, long or short. With just a little tweaking and adjustments all that can be overcome.

Many of the sites I review (1000’s) need to throw it all out and start over again. I suggest if you need a good copywriter, do a search online and read the works of the top online content copywriters.

The effectiveness of Your website copy can and will make or break You online ( and maybe offline).

You have 8 seconds, do you get it? 8-that’s it!

If a visitor to Your website looks and goes, WHOA!

The back button will be the next sound You hear. End of story. A lost opportunity to acquire a new customer or client. Do You know how much a new customer is worth to Your business? WE DO!

Instantly riveted, glued to their seats is the response You want and need to be a successful business online.

Irresistibly Magnetic Words That Draw The Readers Attention To Your Website Copy or Content…

You - Ultimate - Free - Master - Power - Discovery - Easy - Guaranteed - Love - Money - New - Scientific - Proven - Results - Incredible - Discover - Breakthrough - Secret - Private - Cash - Shocked - Shocking - Revealed - Uncovered - Hidden - Profit's - Inside – How to…..Yes even Sex has appeal!

We know that these words will grab a readers mind.

Certain words, when combined together, literally draw the readers eyes to your web copy...the words ABOVE are those we have found to work every time.

Made You look up didn’t I?

FACT: It's hard to get anybody's attention FACT: It's hard to keep his or her attention

This is the Power of the correct copy techniques that many don’t have, or use to full effectiveness.

It costs nothing to tweak your web copy, and yet you can get measurable, marked improvements in response!

Some example headlines using those words above:

"Revealed! - Scientifically Proven Strategies Guaranteed To Double Your Profit's Every Month or You Keep The Website we build You For Free!

"Master The Art of Optimizing Web Pages In 30 Minutes With Our Proven, Easy to Use Tools!"

"Breakthrough Money-Making Secrets That Other Sites Do Not Want You To Find Out About - Uncovered And Revealed Inside!"

Power words, like those above, are already implanted deeply in the minds of all your readers simply because of what the words mean to them.

For example, when You see the word " Revealed ", it evokes a response from within You and draws your attention to the rest of the sentence because Revealed 'means' something to You and most other people.

The “Revealed” might give You a great advantage before I and others find out, if You read about it first. People love to discover things and the word attracts them instantly when they see it.

Just like the words 'Scientific Breakthrough' will immediately draw the attention of most everyone. Most can not pass up a headline that has those two words in it.

FACT: Changing a headline can boost response by up to 1700% as tested by John Caples.

(Aside from tweaking Your headlines, I'm giving you invaluable little known ways which cost nothing to implement, to radically improve your website’s conversion rates.)

If You see those two words, You will most always read the rest of my headline. And if the rest of my headline is something You’re interested in, then I am well on my way to a new customer.

If the Scientific Breakthrough has to do with a new kind of Web design System, then You would move on if you have no interest. Remember web copy is our topic here.

YET...I at least got you to read the 'full' headline...and I’ve got a lot of other people to read it too!

If the Scientific Breakthrough had to do with making money I would have had YOU hooked into reading more, and possibly my entire letter.

I got the attention of the maximum number of people with the first two words, then, with the rest of the headline, I weeded out those with no interest and hooked my target prospects.

We love things to be revealed, we love secrets, hidden things, proven things and shocking things...we always have and always will. Human nature I suppose. The key is to keep your reader hooked! If you reader doesn't read your copy, your copy has no chance of selling anything!

1) Empathize with YOUR reader! Here's a direct quote from Robert Collier from his legendary out of print book, 'The Robert Collier Letter Book': The reader of this letter wants certain things. The desire for them is, consciously or unconsciously, the dominant idea in their mind all the time. You want them to do a certain definite thing for you. How can you tie this up to the thing they want, in such a way that the doing of it will bring them a step nearer to their goal? Bottom line: “KNOW THY SUSPECT”. (Notice I said Suspect and not Prospect?) You need to get out of your own head, and get into theirs! When you truly know your prospect inside out, you’ll be able to display empathy in your sales copy, and be able to push their emotional buttons, and hit them in the “sweet spot” to make them say “Man.. I really need this thing…or service”

2) Controversy People love tabloids. Whether or not you love the National Enquirer, there are people who actually READ such stuff. If you swipe enough headlines from the Enquirer, I guarantee you'll never have any problems getting your headlines to sizzle. Let's face it...sensationalism sells! Why do you think Women's magazines sell like crazy? Check out one of the teaser bullets: The Kinkiest, Wildest Turn On Of All Time Is (would you believe it?) Mutual Trust. Read on.…. Get me a copy of Star now!

3) Add Drama Read this: “Jim was shocked. He had never seen so much blood in his life... it was almost nauseating. It wasn’t his fault. He buried his face in his hands and wept… she was such a lovely child…” I bet you really want to know what happened right? Honestly.. I don’t know, because I made that up. Yet I know this proves how powerful a device drama can be. Here's one of my favorite quotes from the famous mystery writer Dashiell Hammet, who gave other budding writers this advice: “When in doubt, have someone come crashing through the door with a gun.”

4) Dress It Up It's really important that you know why your website looks the way it does. While many will argue that it's not always true... people DO judge a book by it's cover, and for that matter, your website from how it looks. You can radically increase the chance of your prospect doing business with you, by conveying credibility through your font and color selection. It's easy to tell an amateurish website from a professional site. If you don't convey credibility, you'll lose the sale as people are wary about credit card fraud, and there is no way they will gamble with that. And of giving their credit card number to a website that looks like crap. Whatever the case, here's the golden rule about cosmetics and its place in web copy. The Golden Rule: Do the graphics enhance readership and credibility, or are they there, simply for the sake of being there? This is the very best 'litmus test' for using graphics in your web copy. Remember, Content and Copy-words sell.

5) Give Them The Facts! Do you know the No #1 trend online? Skepticism. There are far too many scandals in the political, economic, educational, religious and financial arena. People just don't know whom to trust anymore, do you? On the Web, almost every mother's son is THE GURU. Who do you trust? Does your sales letter answer the questions: Who are you, why should I pay attention to you and why should I buy from you? You have to back up what you say with the cold, hard unadulterated FACTS. “...The first step is to gather the facts. Every aspect of the product and its market is analyzed. The research is thorough. When it is completed, the report, called a FACT BOOK, is compiled in an organized manner”. - The Law Of Primacy And Regency - from 'Marketing, Advertising And Sales Promotion' (1965) This Fact-Book approach will enable any business to find the hidden benefits to establishing new copywriting angles or to structure a new offer. This, sadly, does not happen by chance. Very rare! On the contrary, it's conceived from the marketing intelligence you have marshaled together about your customers, your competitors and your own products or services. Most Internet Businesses are struggling with poor response, and have no idea how to go about increasing the effectiveness of their marketing beyond increasing the size of their advertising budget. This foolishness never ends! Better copywriting and content! The truth is, most Internet Businesses do not have a problem getting traffic. They have problems CONVERTING browsers into buyers, and more often than not, the problem lies with their web copy. Very true…. In conclusion, these are some no cost, yet super easy ways to radically increase the effectiveness of your web copy. They are almost instantly implementable, and cost you next to nothing.

Now these are only a few things that stand between your web copy and the results you should be getting from it.
