If you hand out a lot of business cards, you're in luck! It turns out that business cards can be used for creative advertising in hundreds of ways.
I recently got a note from Diana Ratliff who has written a booklet "150 tips to turn your ordinary business card into a prospecting powerhouse!" (bizcardbooklet@sendfree.com). Diana says most of us are practically throwing our business cards away. She advises to make your cards do double duty:
- Write a message on your card.
- Put a little adhesive magnet on the back of your card.
- Offer to trade business cards with others.
- When someone asks your name, hand them a card instead.
- Put a humorous title on your card.
- Include your photo on your card.
- Print your Web site address on your card.
It is often the most common, everyday marketing tools that are the most powerful. We tend to overlook them.
