We had a retail store for ten years. We sold big screen TV's and home theater components in Dana Point, California. Specialized in high-end, quality components and service, plus sold and rented Laserdisc movies which were the ultimate source of audio and video in the late '80's and '90's. Before the ubiquitous DVD which is now taking over home theater.
We cornered the home video rental market for Laserdiscs in our area, and that paid the bills. After years of working in the actual "biz" -TV and Feature Film production - it was fun for my wife and me to see customers renting the finished product and being able to talk about the "inside" of how movies are made.
We learned a lot about customer service, satisfaction in retail sales, and follow-up. Face to face, not through a terminal connected to an ISP with a server who-knows-where! Now we have a retail store on the web - www.HeavenAtHome.com. Surprise!!
We still must provide the same ingredients that made in-person retail successful—
- Good Prices,
- Service,
- Satisfaction,
- Follow-up!
So not much has changed except we don't commute to work... These elements of success also apply to marketing and networking. We spent a full year on the business plan for our retail store, and I can see not much time is spent on any plan for most of the new programs thrown at us daily for network marketing.
The ones that are long-term, successful, and worthwhile, are well-thought-out while simple for us to use!! I found a program to market our retail Web site that is not only free, but produces its own residual income, and has that background of thoughtfulness that produces success!
Zoran Jovivic, an ingenious professional from Australia, has put together a plan that we can all admire. We can use it at no cost for enormous advertising exposure, or we can upgrade and get amazing enhanced advertising, plus solid, residual income. It is our choice. It is simple, because Zoran and his team have put a huge effort into solving the question of:
- Price,
- Service,
- Satisfaction,
- Follow-up!
I love this concept! And remember a wonderful motto from my early-retail days: K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sweetheart)!
